Mold
Although mold occurs in nature and can be found in nearly all environments, mold growth inside buildings is not acceptable. Mold needs three things to grow: a spore (seed), nutrients (building materials, furnishings) and moisture.
The key element to preventing mold growth is to control moisture accumulation in building materials. Moisture accumulation can result from condensation of water vapor on cold surfaces, air infiltration and vapor diffusion as well as liquid and capillary flow of water.
Our services include:
-
Identification of location and extent of mold growth
-
Identification of cause of mold growth
-
Air and material testing for mold to identify quantity and species
-
Mold mitigation recommendations
-
Scope of work development to allow procurement of bids for remediation
-
Complete project oversight and clearance testing
Our investigations not only identify the location and extent of mold growth but also the source of moisture that is causing that growth. Our recommendations, therefore, not only mitigate the immediate problem but also greatly reduce the likelihood of recurring problems of mold growth.
We also work with your building staff to educate them on techniques to prevent mold growth. One of the most popular requests we receive is for our in-service training program titled “Preventing Mold Growth In The Design, Construction and Maintenance of Buildings”. This program is ideal for building owners, designers, contractors, building engineers and maintenance staff.
We even found mold growing in this doctor’s office.
If you have a mold problem, we can find it and recommend the best method of remediation.
