Industrial Hygiene
Industrial hygiene is the art and science of anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling those environmental conditions that may cause injury or illness to persons or damage to property. Major components of industrial hygiene include the study of air contaminants, chemical hazards, biological hazards, physical hazards, and ergonomic hazards. Through environmental monitoring and analysis we can detect the extent of exposure to persons and employ engineering, work practice controls, and other methods to control potential health hazards. Through these industrial hygiene studies, the employer can establish areas of probable exposure, and take steps to mitigate potential exposures. Our ergonomic studies often result in increased productivity as well as reduced employee injuries.
